Potato Peas Kurma

Potato Peas Kurma - spicy, tasty and best curry

Ingredients

  • Potato - 2 big cubed
  • Green peas - 1/2 cup (soak over night with tap water)
  • Onion - 2 thinly sliced
  • Green chilli - 5 chopped
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp chopped
  • Garlic - 1 tbsp chopped
  • Curry leaves - 2 stems
  • Tomato - 1 big cubed
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 11/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste or 2 tsp
  • Thick coconut milk - 1 cup
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Oil - 4 tbsp
  • cloves - 4
  • Cinnamon stick - 1" piece

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat and add cloves and cinnamon stick
  2. Then add onion and saute till it transparent
  3. Add ginger, garlic, green chilli, and curry leaves
  4. Saute till it's raw smell goes &add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt
  5. Saute another 1 minutes and add tomato &continue to saute for 30 seconds
  6. Now add cleaned green peas & potato
  7. Add 1/2 cup of water , close the lid and cook over medium heat till the first whistle comes
  8. Remove from fire, after it cool open the lid and place the cooker over medium heat
  9. Add thick coconut milk , pepper powder,garam masala powder and half of the curry leaves
  10. Cook for 1 minute in low flame and switch off the stove
  11. Enjoy with any rotis
