Chicken Cutlet
Tasty chicken cutlet recipe
Ingredients
- Potato - 3 boiled and mashed
- Chicken - 1/2 kg cut into medium pieces or (chicken breast)
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
- Ginger - 1/2 tsp chopped
- Garlic - 1/2 tsp chopped
- Salt - 1.5 tsp or as per your taste
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Oil &Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Onion - 2 big chopped
- Green chilli - 4 nos chopped
- Ginger - 1" piece crushed
- Garlic - 1 tbsp chopped
- Curry leaves - 1 stem chopped
- Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp chopped
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste or 1.5 tsp
- Bread crumbs - 1 cup
- Egg white - 2 eggs
For masala:
- Oil - 3/4 cup
For fry :
Instructions
- In a sauce pan combine cleaned chicken with turmeric powder, chilli powder & garam masala
- Add 1/2 cup of water, ginger, garlic and salt, cook it over medium heat for 10 minutes
- Then bring the flame to low - medium & cook for 10 minutes more
- Bring the heat up to medium and boil till the gravy become thick, saute in between
- Allow it to cool & separate the chicken from bone using your fingers
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat & saute onion with salt until it transparent
- Add ginger , garlic, green chilli , curry leaves and coriander leaves, saute for 1 minute
- Then add shredded chicken, pepper powder and garam masala powder
- Saute for 1 minute and switch off the stove
- Add the mashed potato into the masala and mix well
- Make lemon size balls & gently press with your palm
- Dip each cutlet in egg white mix & roll them in bread crumbs till all sides are nicely coated
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat & fry cutlets until it golden brown, flip it half way through
- Transfer the cutlets to a plate lined with kitchen towel to remove excess oil
- Serve hot with tea itself or make a sandwich
- Place unpeeled whole potatoes in a pressure cooker with about 1 glass of water, cover with the lid and cook in medium heat for 2 whistles
- Remove from heat and wait till whistle subsides(~10min)
- Now, drain the water and remove skin from potatoes.
- Mash the potatoes while it is still fairly hot
