Mussel Biriyani
Mussel Fried Rice . Make it for your dinner
Ingredients
- Oil - 2tbsp
- Ghee - 2tbsp
- Mussels - 1 lb frozen or fresh
- Onion - 3 nos
- Green chilli - 8 nos chopped
- Ginger - 1 tbsp chopped
- Garlic - 1tbsp - chopped
- Garlic - 1 tbsp
- Tomato - 2 big cubed
- Fennel powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste or 1 tsp
- Lime juice - 2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Mint leaves - 2 tbsp
For masala:
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp or as per your taste
- Curry leaves - few
For marinate the mussels:
- Basmati rice - 2 cups
- Oil - 4 tbsp & ghee 2 tbsp
- Clove - 4
- Cinnamon stick 1" piece - 2
- Cardamom - 2
- Water - 5 cups
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Garam masala 1/2 tsp
- Lime - juice of 1/2 lime
- Coriander leaves for garnish
For rice:
Instructions
- For thaw the mussels follow the package instructions
- If you use fresh mussels, boil cleaned mussels with 1/2 cup of water
- When the mussels open (it will take 10 minutes switch off the stove)
- When it cool scooping out the mussels from the shell & remove the black dirt from the bottom
- Wash it well 3 to 4 times with tap water
- Then marinate with above mentioned marinade ingredients for 15 minutes
- Heat oil in a pan & fry mussels in medium flame till it medium crispy
- Saute in between
- Heat a sauce pan over medium heat
- Add onion and saute till it light golden brown
- Then add chopped garlic,ginger,green chilli and salt
- Saute well for 1 minutes and tomato cubes, fennel powder, pepper powder and coriander powder
- Saute for 1 minute and add 1/4 cup water
- Cook over medium heat 5 minutes & add fried mussels
- Add mint leaves, coriander leaves , lemon juice and garam masala powder
- Saute well and cook for 1 minutes , remove from fire
For masala:
- Heat a big sauce pan over medium heat and add oil & ghee
- Splutter clove, cinnamon stick and cardamom
- Add cleaned & soaked rice and fry over medium heat 5 minutes
- Then add boiled water, salt,lime juice and cook low - medium heat for 20 minutes or rice cooked
- Saute in between two or three times
- Then mix the masala with rice & garnish with coriander leaves
- Enjoy
