Mutton Masala

Spicy Mutton Curry

Ingredients

  • Mutton - 1/2 kg ( cut into medium pieces) wash & squeeze
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 2 tbsp full
  • Coriander powder - 2tsp
  • Salt - to taste or 2 tsp
  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger paste - 1 tbsp
  • Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Onion - 2 big sliced
  • Shallot - 6 nos sliced
  • Green chilli - 4 nos slit lengthwise
  • Tomato - 1 big cubed
  • Curry leaves- 2 stems
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder - 2 tbsp crushed
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 3 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker combine mutton with turmeric powder, chilli powder,coriander powder
  2. Add half of the prepared ginger garlic paste into it.
  3. Add salt and water.
  4. Close the lid and pressure cook 15 mins or until it's tender
  5. After the first whistle , lower the flame.
  6. Set aside.
  7. Heat oil in a sauce pan and saute onion until it is golden brown.
  8. Then add green chilli, ginger garlic paste and curry leaves.
  9. Now add the mutton that has been set aside.
  10. Cook the dish for approximately three minutes or until the curry thickens
  11. Stir in between
  12. Then add garam masala powder and coriander leaves.
  13. Switch off the flame.
  14. Serve with Ghee rice or any type of Roti.
  15. Enjoy!
