Nadan Chicken Curry

Ingredients

  • Chicken - 1 kg washed & cut into medium pieces
  • Onion - 2 thinly sliced
  • Green chilli - 5 nos slit lengthwise
  • Ginger - crushed - 2" piece
  • Garlic - 2 tbsp chopped
  • Curry leaves - 3 stems
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp full
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Oil + ghee - 4 tbsp
  • Pepper corn - 2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1tsp

Instructions

  1. In a sauce pan heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium heat , then bring the flame to low
  2. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, 1/2 tsp of garam masala powder , coriander powder
  3. Add pepper corns and saute for 15 seconds , remove from fire
  4. Blend it in the grinder with 1/4 cup of water for few seconds
  5. In a deep bottom sauce pan heat 3 tbsp of oil & saute onion until it transparent
  6. Add ginger, garlic, green chilli and 2 stems of curry leaves
  7. Saute well until raw smell goes or about 1 minute
  8. Then add grounded masala ,saute well , add cleaned chicken & 1 cup of water
  9. Close the lid & cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, then add salt
  10. Bring heat to medium - low and cook for another 10 minutes or till the chicken tender
  11. Add garam masala powder , pepper powder and 1 stem curry leaves at the end
  12. Switch off the stove and enjoy hot with ghee rice or any roti
