Beans Coconut Salad ( Thoran )

Beans Coconut Salad ( Thoran )

Ingredients

  • French Beans  -  250 gm, chopped  |  2-3 handful of beans(~amt)
  • Onion  -  1/2 chopped  |  small one will do
  • Green Chilli  -  2 slit lengthwise  |  add more to spice up  
  • Coconut  -  1/4 cup shredded |  1 handful 
  • Turmeric  -  1/4 tsp
  • Salt  -  to taste
  • Water - 3 tbs | 1/4 of a drinking glass
    To Temper 
  • Oil  -  2 tbs
  • Mustard Seeds  -  1/2 tsp | 2 pinches will do
  • Cumin  -  1/4 tsp  | 1 pinch will do
  • Dry Red Chilli  -  1 or 2 
  • Curry Leaves  -  1 stem 

Instructions

  1. Heat the pan over medium heat. Once its heated up pour _oil_
  2. Add the mustard, let is splutter
  3. Add cumin, dry chilli and curry leaves
  4. Add beans, onion, green chilli, turmeric and salt  - saute well to mix it up
  5. Add water and mix well . Cover the pan and cook for approx. 5 min
  6. Add coconut and saute well 
  7. After 3 min switch off the stove
  8. Serve hot with rice
