Egg Pakora

 

Egg Pakora is a tasty and spicy tea time snack. Egg Pakora is most tasty when served hot. This snack can be easily prepared and served as an item during iftar times or to guests.

Egg Pakora

Ingredients

  • Eggs hard boiled - 3 nos , make 4 lengthwise pieces of each boiled egg
  • Onion - 2 nos chopped
  • Green chilli - 4 chopped
  • Ginger - 1" piece crushed
  • Curry leaves - 1 stem chopped
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - crushed - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste or 1 1/2 tsp
    For batter :
  • Gram flour - 3/4 cup
  • All - purpose flour - 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour - 1/4 cup
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Baking soda - 1 pinch
  • Water - 1 cup or (enough water to make the batter of medium - thick consistency)
    For fry :
  • Oil - 3/4 cup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl combine gram flour , all - purpose flour, rice flour, baking soda &salt
  2. Pour the water gradually to make the batter of medium - thick consistency
  3. Mix well & add onion, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves and coriander leaves
  4. Add turmeric powder,chilli powder, cumin seeds and salt, mix it again
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat , dip each egg piece in the batter till well coated
  6. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown, flip in between
  7. Remove pakoras from oil & transfer to a plate place with paper towel
  8. Enjoy hot with tea
